L-N volleyball

The Lawrence-Nelson High School volleyball team won one and lost one at the Red Cloud triangular match last Tuesday. The Raiders downed Red Cloud, 25-20, 25-27 and 25-10, in three sets. The Kenesaw Blue Devils swept Lawrence-Nelson in two sets, 23-25 and 23-25. The Raiders played Blue Hill, Tuesday, at Blue Hill. Match results were unavailable at press time.

Aleah Heikkinen was the lead killer for the Raiders against Red Cloud with seven. Emma Epley punched out five kills. Kylie Beard, Sydney Biltoft and Kara Menke added three kills each. Katelyn Mazour had a kill.Elsa Jorgensen and Hanna Skinner sliced through four aces apiece. Heikkinen lashed through three aces. Epley scored with an ace. Heikkinen mined 11 digs. Epley and Skinner landed 10 digs each. Jorgensen put up six digs. Mazour mixed in five digs. Menke lobbed up four digs. Beard played three digs. Biltoft had a dig.

Menke was the lead killer against Kenesaw with six. Epley pounded out five kills. Heikkinen posted four kills. Biltoft added three kills. Emily Troudt recorded two kills. Mazour had a kill. Skinner scored with two aces with Jorgensen scoring one. Jorgensen and Mazour accounted for nine digs apiece. Skinner contributed five digs for the Raiders. Heikkinen acquired four digs. Epley put away three digs. Menke registered two digs. Biltoft had a dig.

The Raideres play a triangular match against Bruning-Davenport-Shickley and High Plains Community at Shickley today (Thursday). The Twin Valley Conference Tournamant gets underway Monday. Play concludes on Wednesday.
