Superior has a full slate of activities for the 2021 Homecoming week. The theme this year, “Once Upon a Homecoming,” revolves around a Disney movie.
Class competitions are planned for the week. The class with the most points wins the spirit stick and will get to go to lunch first until Christmas break.
The big contest this year is a food drive. The spirit stick will be awarded to the winning class at half-time of the football game.
The drill team is working on a special performance with the senior boys which will be performed Friday afternoon during the Parent Homecoming Pep Rally.
Monday was Princess-Prince Day. The junior varsity football team played at Fillmore Central. The middle school football and volleyball teams played Rock Hills at home. The girls golf team played at the state tournament.
Tuesday was Western Day. Morning competition was a Corn Hole game. The lunch competition was a horse race. The high school varsity volleyball team played at Sandy Creek.
Biker and Surfer Day was Wednesday’s theme. A sleeping bag race was the morning competition. Just Dance was the lunch competition. Tentatively there was a pep rally scheduled at 2:15 p.m., with a class competition.
Today (Thursday) the theme is Holiday Day. Guess that Disney Song is the morning competition. At lunch is a Disney Bingo competition. The cross country team will compete at districts. The volleyball team will play Thayer Central at Thayer Central.
Friday’s theme is Wildcat Spirit (Red-White-Black) Day. Students are asked to wear all three colors. The Parents’ Pep Rally is at 1:36 p.m. The parade down Central to Fourth Street will begin at 3 p.m. Class competition winners will be announced and the Spirit Stick presentation will take place.
The football game is at 7 p.m. against Doniphan-Trumbull with coronation of the king and queen following the game. A dance for high school students will be held in the school cafeteria from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
