Raeoma Marie Boren, 94, the daughter of Mary (Gehley) and Ray “Barb” Etherton, was born May 17, 1927, at Franklin, Neb. She died Monday, Oct. 4, at the Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud, Neb.
Raeoma grew up in the Guide Rock community and received her formal education attending the Guide Rock schools. Following her graduationshe was united in marriage with William Alan Boren on Feb. 2, 1947. They made their home on the farm south of Red Cloud until retiring and moving into town to live. Raeoma was employed with the Red Cloud public schools as a cook for more than 40 years, retiring when she turned 70.
She enjoyed her home, family and friends. In her leisure time, Raeoma enjoyed relaxing doing cross stitch work and going to coffee with her many friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Mary and Barb Etherton; her
husband, Bill Boren; and a son, Bradley Boren.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs Richard Wehness (Deanne) of Lincoln, Neb.; granddaughters and great-granddaughter, Leslie Wehnes and Jennifer and Willie Wade and daughter, Grace.
Her funeral was at 1 p.m., Wednesday, 1 p.m., Oct. 6, at the Red Cloud Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday and 8 a.m., Wednesday, to service time at the Williams Funeral Home at Red Cloud.
