Linda Swenson

A funeral for Linda L. Swenson will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Neb., with Pastors Tim Swenson and Jeff Kimberly officiating. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege. 

Linda Lou Swenson, 74, of Holdrege, died, Sept. 25, 2021, at the Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln, Neb. Linda was born in Red Cloud, Neb., on July 31, 1947, the fourth of eight children, born to Emil and Ada (Smith) Sidlo. She received her education from Red Cloud.

Following her education, Linda worked at Becton and Dickinson in Holdrege, as a machine operator and floater for 25 years until she retired to be able to enjoy life more with all her friends and family.

On July 3, 1969, Linda was united in marriage to John Swenson in her parents' home in Kenesaw. To this union they had three children. The couple made their home in Holdrege. Together they enjoyed time with family and taking trips to the casinos when health would allow them to.

Linda enjoyed being able to be a wife, mother and most of all grandma and great-grandma. She also enjoyed crocheting with her girlfriends for many years and then teachingothers, scrapbooking, adult coloring, and of course playing the slots.

She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege for many years.

Linda will be remembered for her love of her family, her amazing smile and laugh that were contagious and that lit up everywhere she went. She will also be remember for being willing to help everyone anytime she could, she was so giving and had a heart of gold.

Besides her parents, Linda was preceded in death by, her sister, Ann Blessin.

Linda is survived by her husband, John of Holdrege; children: Tim Swenson (Leah) of Lander, Wyo .; Tammy DiFabritus of Cozad, Neb .; Mrs. Jeff Kimberly (Tracy), of Superior; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters: Judy Coaly, Patty Shumate and Ramona Sidlo Andrew; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 1, with family greeting friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

A memorial has been established in Linda's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
