The Red Cross Blood Mobile arrived in Nelson Friday for another great day. Although the drive came up a few pints short, 57 units were collected which will help save as many as 170 patients in need. Some donors had a prolonged wait because of the shortage of Red Cross staff.
Several donors reached their personal milestones.Carol Buschkoetter has now given her 12th gallon. Pastor Ethan Feistner has reached his seven-gallon mark. Six-gallon donors are: Ramon Otero, Donna Jensen and Barb Wehrman. Five-gallon donors are: Cindy Hewitt, Sandra Schendt and Peggy Aldrup. Four-gallon donors are: John Hodge, Julie Worman and Ashley Wit. Katlyn Bolte and Wayne Petersen have now donated two-gallons. The drive had an anonymous first timer.
Other donors were: Dale Endorf, Kasey Vaughn, Kelly Scheuerman, Marlin Meyer, Alfred Hanson, Don Mazour, Ivalee Jacobitz, Joe and Gwynne Mazour, Ron Fryda, Sally Frahm-Drudik, Dave Ochsner, Diane Gebers, Bruce Christensen, Mary Statz, Kevin Stout, Mike Buresh, Michaela Hinrichs, Carla Jeardoe, Greg and Jean Stichka, Jerry Bargen, Jan Menke, Deb Troudt, Travis Pofahl, Marcia Schultz, Brent Menke, Brenda Schott, Brenda Carpenter, Dave Mussmann, Lynn Culbertson, Howard Schultz, Jenell Wood, Maxc VanSkiver, Angela Hanson-Garver, Makayla Carter, Lyle Meyer and Sally Uhrmacher.
The Nelson Rubies served lunch to the donors and volunteers and the city allowed for the use of the auditorium.
