The Ute board meeting was held by ZOOM and in person. Thadd Hinkle, Lisa Goodheart (ZOOM), Phyllis Christie, Chris Klos, Kristin Underwood Sarah Ortman and Trevor Elkins, a guest, were in attendance.
Janis McDill had provided copies of the treasurer’s report. All the scheduled movies have been paid for, some by Warner Brothers credits. The warranty on the projector has been paid for the year.
Discussion was held on the ice cream social. The board was reminded money amounts above and beyond a purchase have to be recorded for sales tax purposes. Kristin Underwood explained how she and Jennifer Urbaniak compiled the prizes donors list. Trevor Elkins presented an insurance quote from the Chris Leaf company. He found coverage with $1,000 deductible and $35,000 worth of coverage, including liability, for $1,043 per year. The motion carried to to purchase the insurance quoted. Klos said all the neon repairs to the marquee and the Indian sign have been completed. Kristin said the dinner and a movie fundraiser event on Oct. 30 will provide funds for Mankato’s 150th anniversary celebration.
The current slate of officers were accepted by unanimous ballot. Phyllis presented a movie poster from the 1960s and one from 1970s donated from the LeClair family. They will be displayed. Suggestion for movies be shown on Saturday night, Sunday afternoon and Sunday night was presented. The board agreed to try the schedule beginning in October. It was reported more volunteers are needed, particularly projectionists. The Bingo machine may need repaired.
The next meeting will be Sept. 27.
