9-11 . . .
If you watched TV at all this past week (especially Saturday, 9-11-2021) you were fully immersed in the commemoration of the Islamic extremists’ terror attack on the United States on 9-11-2001. That effort to inflict terror on U. S. citizens affected all of us in one way or another. One thing caught my attention as I watched the ceremonies in New York City. That thing was the names of those killed that day.
As I understand it, those extremists who carried out the attack were from the area of the world that have a problem with what is called: “The Western Culture.” Usually it means European and North America. It seems they have come to hate white, Caucasians who have predominated this culture for many, many years.
The TV station I was watching focused on the reading of the names and had pictures of most all the deceased of the day. What I found interesting was this: if the extremists aim was to kill white, Caucasians, they sure goofed up on their mission.
I have no idea of how many, but many, many of the people killed that day were not white, Caucasian, or even American. Many were the victims that were black, brown or Asian people or their descendants.
At the time of the 9-11 attack on America, we did not show much interest in trying to even just control the terror acts going on in the world and those terrorist knew it. They drew up a long-range plan and carried it out.
What scares me today is that with the U. S. abandoning Afghanistan like it did, those people intent on doing terror acts will become stronger once again and will not shy away from more acts of terror right here in America.
Nobody likes war to continue forever, but the U. S. has had troops in Germany since 1945 and nobody calls that a war. The same with Korea since the 1950s and it is not a “war.”
It seemed the incidents of terror had been reduced in the last 20 years. Just maybe having troops in Afghanistan was a good idea.
Pray for those committed to terror so they may change their attitudes against the rest of us.

I’m afraid I don’t read enough.
Remember all those Texas state legislators (all Democrats) who left the state because they didn’t want to vote on changes in the election laws of the state?
Well, it seems Texas has a law that any member absent during a quorum call can “be sent for and arrested” by a simple majority vote of those present.
I haven’t read the details yet if any arrests were made or if the Democrats just returned on their own, but they did return. The voting bill was advanced and passed the Texas House on a 79-37 mostly party-line vote.
It has been said the bill ensures every eligible voter gets to vote, adds more hours to vote, makes it harder for fraudulent votes to be cast and makes ballot harvesting a third-degree felony.
The largest objection from the Democrats on many of the changes made throughout the United States is the subject of needing a photo ID in order to vote.
I need to read more about how the changes I’ve read about hurts anyone wishing to vote. Nebraska is even going through a ‘ballot petition’ event to put the need for photo ID’s on the 2022 election ballot.

How about that . . .
Over recent years the liberal segment of society thought it would be good for society to recognize gender identity of kids by what the kids want to be called.
That means if a boys wanted to be called a girl, teachers (especially teachers) had to use the pronoun “he” or “she” for that person on that day.
Some school boards had even gone so far to mandate this in their schools.
Seemed hopeless for the many of us who didn’t think it was a good idea to start with.
However, just recently the Supreme Court of Virginia reinstated a teacher who was fired because he refused to bow to the group that think there are more than two genders in the world.
I’m not sure what the outcome of this teacher’s employment or position will be, but it was great to hear at least some of the legal establishment of our world agrees that maybe calling a boy, ‘she’ or a girl, ‘he’, isn’t the best idea in the world and just isn’t right.
