The Couples Summer Golf League met at the Elk Creek Country Club at Nelson Friday evening for week 10 of competition. At least it wasn’t as humid as the previous week.
The format was the usual two-person scramble.
The teams of Chuck and DeAnna Tuttle and Josh and Christina Harwell had a low net score of 31 this week.
Dorrel Lipker and Carla Jeardoe and Rod and Sue Burge had a high gross score of 47, followed by Richard and Verlene Watson with a 45.
Hunter Holland and Emily Wulf had a seven on the par 4 no. 6. Joe and Jenny Harwell had to take a seven on the par 4 no. 5 for the most over.
Jan Rempe was the closest to the green on no. 1 with her second shot; DeAnna Tuttle had the longest putt on no. 3 with 99”; and Sally Uhrmacher’s drive on no. 5 was the closest to the weather vane for this week’s flag prizes.
After 10 weeks of competition and only two more weeks left, Jerry Bargen and Sally Uhrmacher are still in first place with 17.5 points.
Rod and Sue Burge remain in second place with 12 points.
Craig German and Cindy Hewitt moved up to third place with their two additional points, giving them 11.
There is a four-way tie for fourth place with 10 points: Hunter Holland and Emily Wulf; Cody and Crystal Wyatt; Dorrel Lipker and Carla Jeardoe; and Josh and Christina Harwell.
In eight place with eight points are Joe are Jenny Harwell.
Ken and Jan Rempe moved up to ninth place with their two extra points this week giving them 6.5.
John and Piper Hodge are now in 10th place with six points.
In 11th place, earning two points this week are Chuck are DeAnna Tuttle with 4.5 points, followed by Richard and Verlene Watson with 2.5 points.
Later everyone met at the club house for grilled burgers and sides.
Friday evening everyone will tee off from the women’s tee boxes on every hole and finish that hole with alternating shots.
