Donna Figgins
Donna Mae Figgins, 83, died Friday, Aug. 6, at her home in Red Cloud. Donna was born on May 21, 1938, in Campbell, to Iris (Kinney) and William G. Hoffman.
She received her formal education attending the Bladen High School where she graduated with the Class of 1956. She continued her studies at Kearney State Teachers College, earning her certificate in normal training. She taught country school for one year.
On April 19, 1957, she was united in marriage with Gerald Figgins. They lived in Washington until 1959, and Arizona until the Spring of 1962, when they moved to Bladen. In February of
1967, they moved to Hastings. This union was blessed with three children, Marlene, Darrel and William.
In 1981, they founded Figgins Construction. In 1983, they moved to Red
Cloud and have made their home there since.
In her leisure time, Donna had several hobbies and interests. Her greatest love and enthusiasm was for her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, William and Iris Hoffman; and a sister, Mary Maxine Krueger.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald, of Red Cloud; daughter, Marlene of Red Cloud; sons, Darrel
and William Figgins of Red Cloud.
Her graveside service was Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the Red Cloud Cemetery with Pastor Jay Towell officiating.
