DUI charge results in state prison time for repeat offender

Several Nuckolls county residents were sentenced in District Court at the Nuckolls County Courthouse in Nelson Tuesday. District Court Judge Stephen Illingworth presided over the court proceedings.

Cody Bohlen had been found guilty of several charges related to driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a breath test, no proof of insurance as well as other charges. The judge noted he had been give ample opportunities in previous cases. It was noted that since he was adjudged guilty, he has been charged with similar offenses in Adams, Clay and Dodge counties. He was sentenced to three years in prison with the possibility of parole in 18 months. He was also handed sentences to run concurrently for his other offenses. He was credited with one day served in jail. His driver’s license was revoked for 15 years.

Bradley Burris was found guilty of sexual assault of a minor. He is also facing charges in Jefferson and Furnas counties. The judge sentenced him to 12 to 15 years in prison. He was credited with 266 days served in jail. He was ordered to register as a sex offender for 25 years.

James Alfrey, Superior, was found guilty of sexual assault of a child. The judge noted he had been convicted in New Jersey on a similar charge. He faced allegations of sexual misconduct with a child on three occasions but was never charged. He was sentenced to eight to 10 years in prison with a mandatory five year minimum to be served.

He was ordered to register as a lifetime sex offender.

Ronald Jamilowski , Nelson, was convicted of a DUI offense. He was sentenced to 52 days of jail time served.
