Providing meals when businesses close for holidays

In Lawrence, the American Legion and the Sons of the American Legion cooperated for the July 4th food service. Dick’s Place closes on the holidays, so on some occasions, the Legion and Sons use the opportunity to serve the community with dinner and supper.

There were approximately 250 who attended either the dinner or supper, or both this yer. The amount of money ‘made’ is not certain yet as expenses have to be paid, but they took in about $2,500.
