Lula Marie Hutchcraft, the daughter of Jules and Elba (Sonnier) Landry, was born Sept. 28, 1929, in Kaplan, La. She died June 30, 2021, at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 9 months, 2 days.
She married Charlie Ray Matthews, Sr., on June 11, 1951, at Las Cruces, N.M., while he was serving in the military. They had five children.
