Kim Wesley DeVore, 60, the son of Charley and Delores Mersch DeVore, was born Aug. 20, 1960, in Hebron. He died Friday at Mary Lanning Health Care in Hastings.
Kim worked for Carl Jorgensen during the summer months, helping with the farm work during his school years. After graduation, he worked for Reinke Manufacturing and later Pat’s Plumbing. He worked part time at ERC in Edgar.
Kim raced motorcycles, he liked guns and hunting. He enjoyed his International Scouts and his Jack Russell terriers. In his spare time Kim enjoyed working on guns.
Kim made Edgar his home in the early 1980s. For a short while he lived in Colorado and then back to Edgar.
He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents: Delmar and Kate
DeVore; grandmother, Marie Brown and grandparents: Clarence and Eveyn
Mersch.
Survivors include his mother, Delores DeVore of Davenport; son, Shawn DeVore; daughter, Charlene DeVore Swenson; brothers: Larry DeVore of Edgar, Bryan DeVore of Davenport, and Jeff DeVore of Edgar.
His funeral is at10:30 a.m., today (Thursday) at Williams Funeral Home in Edgar. Pastor David King will be officiating. Private family burial will be held at the Edgar Cemetery.
