Ron Ahrens

Ronald Dean Ahrens, known as RD, the son of Robert and Arlene (Streit) Ahrens, was born on July 9, 1961, in Superior. He died June 22, at the Bryan LGH Medical Center East at Lincoln, Neb., at the age of 59 years, 11 months, 13 days.

Ron was baptized and confirmed at the Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior. He was a 1979 graduate of Superior High School. He worked throughout his life at KRFS Radio Station, Follmer Construction, Saathoff Construction, the VFW, the Eagles and the Elks in Superior and currently Livingston Enterprises in Fairbury, Neb. Ron had a love for music and enjoyed sharing it with his family and friends, playing guitar and singing his favorite songs. In recent years he formed the bands the "The Jaguars," "Andy Jones Buffalo Gals" and "Bad Roosters" with some of his close friends.

Ron is survived by his parents, Robert and Arlene Ahrens of Superior; daughters, Skyeler and Alyson Ahrens of Lincoln, Neb., and Jade Ahrens of Superior; six grandchildren, Chloe, Finn, Kirra, Shon, Nikko and Noah; his siblings, Yvonne Bailey (Tom) of North Platte, Neb., Richard Ahrens (Sharlot) of Olathe, Kan., and Betty Bouray (Kent) of Republic, Kan .; numerous nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

His funeral was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 7, from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior with the Rev. Robert Hopkins officiating.

Honorary pallbearers were friends of Ron.

Inurnment was in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery near Superior.
