Erin Nelson plans to open Superior School of Dance

For the first time in several years, local residents will soon be able to enroll in dance classes without having to travel outside of the area.

Erin Nelson is developing plans to open The Superior Dance Studio. Negotiations for a location are on going but the hope is to start the first classes in early August.

The instructor grew up dancing at the Blair Dance Studio in her hometown of Blair, Neb. She studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary modern, broadway jazz, hip hop, point and pom. She attended Northwest Missouri State University majoring in business management with marketing studies.

While attending college, she was a part of the Northwest Dance Company and performed lyrical, pom and clogging for four years. She also worked at the Bearcat Boogie Dance Studio in Maryville, Mo., for five years. There she taught competitive dance as well as recreational dance.

We expect to have in the next issue of this newspaper an advertisement giving more details and information on how to sign up. This week questions may be directed to thesuperior [email protected]

A friendship with Brent Menke drew Erin to this area from Beatrice. She is currently living in Nelson.

Brent, the son of Nuckolls County residents, Jan and Charlie Menke, is the chief accountant for the South Central Public Power District with an office in Nelson.
