Robert Dale Blazek, 78, son of William Blazek and Martha M. (Reynolds)
Blazek was born Oct. 3, 1942, in Los Angeles, Calif. He died June 10, at Republic County Hospital, Belleville.
After graduating from high school in 1960, he enlisted and served with the United States Air Force. After being discharged from active duty, he worked at OK Tire in Belleville from 1964 to 2006.
Robert was united in marriage to Sheri Lynn Heapes on Aug. 6,1967. In 1979, Robert and Sheri expanded their family by adopting 17-month-old Michael Dale Blazek.
Robert was known for his work as
a curator for the High Banks Hall of Fame and National Midget Auto Racing Museum. He officially retired in 2016 but continued to follow his passion for racing with his son, Michael.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Martha Blazek; and wife, Sheri L. Blazek.
He is survived by his son, Michael Blazek of Belleville.
His funeral was held June 15, at Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, conducted by, Pastor Mark McGregor.
Interment was in Belleville Cemetery, Belleville.
