Mankato City Library has added in juvenile fiction: “Eek! Halloween!” by Sandra Boynton, “How Much Does God Love You?” by Michelle Medlock Adams, “Little Blue Truck Leads the Way” by Alice Schertle, “Really Wooly Bedtime Prayers” and “12 Little Blessings” by Bonnie Rickner Jensen.
The library’s upcoming programming is in July! Saturday, July 3rd at 11 a.m., Kady Toole and Izzy will be storytime guests. She will share her book and have copies for sale and for signing. Also Summer Reading Program 2021 Tales & Tails begins on Wednesday, July 14, with a visit from KSDS assistance dogs from Washington, Kan., at 10:30 a.m. That following Friday, July 16, Jammin’ Randy will be back at 10:30 a.m. The Jewell County Sheriff’s Department is coming with a police dog on Wednesday, July 21 at 10:30 a.m. The final summer reading program guest will be Rolling HIlls Zoo on Thursday, July 29 at 10:30 a.m. Please be aware dogs and possibly other animals will be present for all of these programs except for Jammin’ Randy’s program.
Anna Smith will come to the library to do her reenactment of Marion Sloan Russell on Saturday, July 17 at 11 a.m. That same morning, a cartoon marathon with coloring and snacks for the kids will take place from 10 a.m. to noon.
Reading records are available at the library so readers can record all the reading done until the end of July! Bring in the records and redeem them daily or weekly until the end of August or while prizes last. There is also the readerzone.com app that can be used to keep track of reading.
