The Jewell County commissioners, Brent Beck, Steve Greene and Keith Roe, met June 14.
The commissioners reviewed and approved the Cottonwood Consulting Services Agreement for the American Rescue Plan Fiscal Recovery Fund Administrator.
The letter of support of local matching funds for Solomon Valley Transportation for fiscal year 2023 was approved.
Brent Beck moved to pass resolution 20-11 authorizing and providing for the issuance of hospital refunding revenue bonds, series 2021 of Jewell County, Kansas; authorizing execution of a supplemental trust indenture by and among the county, the board of trustees of Jewell County, Hospital and Security Bank of Kansas City, Kansas, as trustee; authorizing certain other documents and actions in connection therweith; and making certain covenants with respect thereto. The motion passed unanimously.
Joel Elkins, general superintendent, reported the Webber asphalt road patch was complete. They are waiting for delivery of more asphalt to finish the other roads. He also discussed rock projects and personnel.
Carla Waugh provided the lease-purchase agreement between Jewell County and the State Exchange Bank for the Jewell County EMS building addition project. It was approved to sign the lease-purchase agreement with the State Exchange Bank upon the approval of the county attorney. The lease-purchase is for $90,000 for a term of 120 months with an interest rate of 4.5 percent.
Chris Petet, custodian, discussed waste disposal and vehicle usage. Greene also discussed a bush at the front entry of the courthouse. Greene said he would bring his chainsaw to clean up the dead part of the bush.
The commissioners approved to sign the Aumentum Technologies Letter of Authorization for remote upgrade of the OS on the IBM Server for a total of $2,000.
The Commissioners had a telephone conference call with Al Gardner, executive general adjuster, Sedgwick, concerning the sworn statement in proof of loss from the Aug.14, 2020 hail claim.
