Love My Crazy Life

This past week felt like two! Besides the regular day-to-day, we managed to have a couple of hours to catch up with some friends and continue cleaning up the garages. Thursday, I drove to Kansas to pick up Jacob from his dad with two of his friends in tow. I’m so thankful for the company as that can be a long and boring trip by one’s self.

On Friday, we set off to Omaha to see our two youngest boys. Along the way, we paid a much-needed visit to the bone-crusher. I gained an inch in height after what felt like having my neck broken. I can’t believe so much stuff can fit into one week, not to mention the addition of a new national holiday throwing me completely off. I go to the courthouse most Friday mornings to pick up the information for the oh-so-popular courthouse news, but not this Friday.

Speaking of Friday, what a crazy day. Our youngest had what we thought would be his last baseball game of the season. So naturally, we wanted to make sure we were there to see it. The team they were to play was known for their not-so-sportsmanship-like conduct, not the players but the parents. I did not believe this accusation until I saw it for myself. One parent was standing at the fence haggling our teams’ 11-year-old pitcher. Not the normal hollering and yelling that is done to throw one off their game, but the bullying type. It was disgusting.

Thank goodness it was our youngest’s mom in charge and not me, she had a “kill them with kindness plan,” and I feel like I would have done just the opposite. LOL! Michelle, the boy’s mom, kept the team upbeat throughout the ordeal until the man was practically dragged out of the ballpark by security. The kids were a bit shook up by the whole thing but still managed to win the game by a landslide and move on to the next game of the playoffs. It was a good day, and the boys have a great memory to look back on. I love it when the underdog wins!

Things at the pool are going well, even though I haven’t been able to be there as much as I’d like. The guards are doing a great job, and we will begin swimming lessons this week. I was worried about how things would work out this pool season since I have a full-time job now, but I have been pleasantly surprised. For the most part, everything is running smoothly. The biggest issue we have had is keeping up with the pool chemicals and the water chemistry.

You remember that garden I was talking about? I never did get that task accomplished. Makes me sad thinking I won’t have fresh tomato’s this year. If anyone has extra, let me know! X’s & O’s.
