BMH holds formal ground breaking for project started before COVID-19

Brodstone breaks ground on new expansion for facility

Brodstone Memorial Hospital held a ground breaking ceremony on Thursday to celebrate the upcoming construction of a facility expansion. The expansion, which is slated to be complete the summer of 2022, is expected to be 30 percent more efficient than the current facility and will include a new emergency room with trauma bays and an ambulance garage. It will also include 17 new patient rooms that are more than three times the size of the current rooms, eight remodeled patient rooms, an infusion center with new suites for chemotherapy and infusion treatments, as well an outdoor healing garden for patient and public use.

Following the completion of the expansion, the current emergency room will be remodeled and utilized by materials management and will allow laundry to be done onsite. Many areas within the existing hospital structure will also be remodeled at that time.

Brodstone has continued to see an increase in patient load as well as continued growth throughout the facility. The additional space will allow for the recruitment of additional specialists and new providers to the area.

"The top priority of this new expansion is safety, security and privacy for our patients," said Treg Vyzourek, CEO. "We are excited for the future of Brodstone and look forward to the continued growth of our award winning facility. This project will truly set Brodstone apart as a state-of-the-art facility, providing Superior Care Close to Home."
