L-N track sending several to state meet

The Lawrence-Nelson High School boys and girls track and field teams competed at the D-6 track meet at Kenesaw last Wednesday. The team qualified several members to advance to the state meet being held at Omaha’s Burke Stadium Wednesday and today (Thursday).

The Raiders boys finished in third place, with 64 points, in the 10 team field. The girls finished in seventh place with 39 points. Other teams at the meet were Axtell, Bruning-Davenport-Shickley, Kenesaw, Deshler, Wilcox-Hildreth, Harvard, Alma, Silver Lake, Red Cloud and Franklin.

Emma Epley finished second in the girls long jump with her leap of 16’3.5”. Elsa Jorgensen was in third place with her distance of 15’9”. Both earned a berth at the state meet. Tori Miller failed to advance to the state meet.

Sydney Biltoft competed in the high jump.

Kylie Beard earned a trip to the state meet with her fourth place finish in the shot put with her toss of 35’4”. Emily Troudt failed to advance to the state meet.

Epley notched a second place finish in the 100 meter hurdles with her time of 16.06 seconds. Biltoft finished in fourth place with the time of 17.06 seconds. Both are headed to the state meet.

Jorgensen, McKenzie Ostdiek and Katelyn Mazour took part in the 100 meter dash. They failed to advance to the state meet.

Jessica Sole participated in the 3200 meter run but failed to advance to the state meet.

Mazour and Miller ran the preliminary heats of the 200 meter dash but they failed to advance to the state meet.

Biltoft held second place in the 200 meter dash with her time of 49.12 seconds. She earned a berth at the state meet in the event.

Emily Troudt competed in the 1600 meter run but failed to advance to the state meet.

The girls 4 x 400 meter relay team of Biltoft, Aleah Heikkinen, Claire Himmelberg and Jorgensen accounted for a first place finish and a trip to the state meet with their time of 4:29.24.

Trevor Biltoft and Trevor Zikmund competed in the boys long jump but they failed to advance to the state meet.

Tyson Kotinek took part in the triple jump but failed to advance to the state meet.

Biltoft entered the high jump but failed to advance to the state meet.

Keaton Mazour and Rocky Miller competed in the shot put. They failed to advance to the state meet.

Erik Wheeland, Mazour and Miller participated in the discus throw. They failed to advance to the state meet.

The 4 x 800 meter relay team of Logan Menke, Nolan Ostdiek, Kotinek and Cole Troudt are headed to the state meet by virtue of their second place finish with their time of 8:48.65.

Biltoft and D. Zikmund ran the 100 meter dash. They failed to advance to the state meet.

Gabe Zikmund and Evan Jaboitz took part in the 100 meter dash. They failed to advance to the state meet.

Troudt is headed to the state meet representing the Raiders in the 3200 meter run with his second place time of 10:40.56.

AJ Koehler took part in the 200 meter dash but failed to advance to the state meet.

Ostdiek and Jacobitz competed in the 800 meter run. They failed to advance to the state meet.

Menke contributed a first place finish in the 1600 meter run with his time of 4:59.19. This earned him a trip to the state meet. Troudt finished in fourth place with the time of 5”12.95. He failed to advance to the state meet.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Wheeland, Biltoft, Kotinek and D. Zikmund finished in sixth place with their time of 48.85 seconds. They failed to advance to the state meet.
