RHHS track teams at two invites

The Rock Hills High School boys and girls track and field teams competed at the Tescott Invitational track meet last Tuesday. The boys team finished in seventh place, with 47 points, in the 15 team field. The girls team finished in fifth place, with 42.5 points, in the 14 team field. Other teams at the meet were Saline, Pike Valley, Tescott, Goessel, Lincoln, Central Plains, Tipton, Wakefield, Solomon, Sylvan Unified, Natoma, Wilson, Southern Cloud and Chase. Southern Cloud did not enter a girls team. The first six positions are awarded points.

Rock Hills hosted the Grizzly Invitational at Mankato Friday. The boys team was in eighth place in the 13 team field with 32 points. The girls team was in seventh place with 31 points. Other teams at the invitational were Hanover, Pike Valley, St. John's, Republic County, Smith Center, Stockton, Washington County, Lakeside, Northern Valley, Thunder Ridge, Tipton Catholic and Linn.

Seth Pennell was in fourth place for the boys team at the Tescott meet in the 100 meter dash with his time of 11.38 seconds. Wyatt Evert also competed.

Tristyn Brown took second in the 200 meter dash with his time of 23.55 seconds. Coe Nielson also competed.

Jerrod Gillett took fourth place in the 400 meter dash with his time of 56.76 seconds.

Kit Wagner and Davin Coil took part in the 800 meter run.

Coil participated in the 1600 meter run.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Brown, Evert, Gillett and Pennell held third place with their time of 46.59 seconds. The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Brown, Gillett, Pennell and Wagner took fourth place with the time of 3:52.51.

Brown finished second in the high jump when he cleared 5'8".

Grant Meyers was in first place in the pole vault with a bar clearing effort of 12'.

Gillett contributed third place in the long jump with his leap of 18'9". Pennell and Wagner also competed.

Evert and Buck Leudke took part in the shot put.

Caden Slate, Evert and Leudke competed in the discus throw.

Grace Ayers locked up fourth place in the 100 meter dash for the girls team at the Tescott meet with her time of 14.04 seconds. Austyn Groote also competed.

Ayers was in sixth place in the 200 meter dash with her time of 29.75 seconds. Paige Zadina took part in the race,

Hannah Simmelink and Zadina competed in the 400 meter dash.

Simmelink participated in the 800 meter run.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Ayers, Groote, Simmelink and Lauren Whelchel finished in first place with their time of 55.36 seconds.

Whelchel grabbed third place in the high jump with a 4'8" jump. Raylynn Anderes also competed.

Whelchel held down first place in the pole vault with an 8' vault. Anderes also took part.

Avery Brown owned the first place spot in the long jump with a leap of 13'11". Ayers was in third place with her jump of 13'8". Simmelink also took part.

Brown and Groote entered the shot put.

Pennell grabbed fifth place in the 100 meter dash at the Grizzly Invitational with his time of 12:08 seconds. Gillett followed in sixth place with the time of 12:12 seconds. Evert also competed. Brown took the fourth place points in the 200 meter dash with his time of 24.79 seconds. Nielson also took part.

Nielson ran the 400 meter dash.

Coil and Wagner took part in the 800 meter run.

Coil participated in the 1600 meter run.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Brown, Davion McDonald, Gillett and Pennell were in second place with their time of 45.2 seconds.

Slate, Leudke and Evert all competed in the shot put and discus throw. They all finished out of the points standings.

Brown sealed up a sixth palce finish in the high jump when he cleared 5'8".

Meyers took second place in the pole vault with his 12'6" effort.

Gillett nabbed the second place points in the long jump with his leap of 21'2.75". wagner also took part in the event.

Coil competed in the triple jump.

Ayers was in fifth palce in the 100 meter dash with her time of 14.21 seconds. Brown also competed.

Ayers finished in third place in the 200 meter dash with her time of 28.8 seconds. Paige Zadina also competed.

Simmelink and Zadina took part in the 400 meter dash.

Simmelink was in the 800 meter run.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team was in third place with their time of 56.19.

Brown took part in the shot put.

Whelchel nailed down second place in the high jump with a 4'8" jump. Anderes was in fifth palce with a 4'2" effort.

Anderes entered the pole vault.
