The Twin Valley Conference Golf Meet was a little short of players this year. Only four of the eight teams sponsored a full regimen of players for the event. Two more had golfers there, just not full teams. Two others did not have anyone to golf.
Franklin won the event which was held in Red Cloud. Franklin had a team score of 345, Red Cloud had 386, L-N 388 and Blue Hill had 406, and Deshler and Silver Lake had players, but not full teams.
For the Raiders, Conner Janda with a 91 and Krayton Kucera with 94 both earned medals by finishing sixth and eighth among the golfers.
Scores for the five varsity golfers were: Blake Wroughton 102, Wyatt Brockman 103, Krayton Kucera 94, Conner Janda 91, Wyatt Hajny 101.
The JV team also had a part in the day. Team scores were not kept, however, Medalist were recognized with five medal given out. Toby Kotinek was the number one medalist among the JV players as he came in with an 89. Clay Williams was the number five medalist scoring 109. Other JV players were Nathan Elledge with a 132 and Will Dougherty with a 136.
The golfing team has two meets this week. They travel to Thayer Central on Wednesday and then to Heartland Lutheran on Thursday. The District Meet is May 17 and L-N plays in the District D-1 Tournament at the Indianhead Golf Course in Grand Island. L-N is one of 15 teams at the event.
