The Burr Oak Community Club met at 6:30 p.m., Thursday at the Grate Expectations Cafe. In the absence of Peggy Wilson, chairman, Glenny Barnes called the meeting to order. Since it had been several months since members had met, no minutes were read. Jessica Barnes, treasurer, was absent and no treasurer’s report was given. There was no old business to discuss.
New business consisted of reviewing four scholarship applications from Rock Hills High School Seniors of 2021. After the scholarships were reviewed by all present, votes were cast by ballot. Receiving the 2021 Burr Oak Community Scholarships will be Karrigan Dunstan and Jerrod Gillett. The next meeting of the Community Club will be June 3. As this will be the Thursday before the Burr Oak 150th Birthday Celebration, the meeting will be held in the new garden feature at the home of Cheryl Hillman. The main item on the agenda at the June meeting will be to plan the Independence Day celebration scheduled for July 4th. Attending were Cheryl Hillman, Bob Hines, Renita Volker, Kelley Bunting, Cliff and Glenny Barnes.
