The Lawrence-Nelson High School boys and girls track and field teams competed at the Twin Valley Conference meet staged at Red Cloud High School Saturday. The boys team finished in third place, with 60.33 points in the nine team field. The girls were in second place with 91 points. Other teams competing at the meet were Shelton, Kenesaw, Red Cloud, Blue Hill, Deshler, Franklin, Silver Lake and Harvard. The first six finishers in each event earn points.
Trevor Biltoft, Erik Wheeland and Devyn Zikmund competed in the 100 meter dash for the boys team. They did not earn points.
Gabe Zikmund and Wheeland took part in the 200 meter dash. They earned no points.
G. Zikmund participated in the 400 meter dash. No points were earned.
Logan Menke finished in third place in the 800 meter run with his time of 2:16.86. Nolan Ostdiek was in fifth place with the time of 2:20.19. Evan Jacobitz finished out of the points.
Menke grabbed the second place points in the 1600 meter run with his time of 5:21.61. Cole Troudt followed in third place with the time of 5:21. 61. Jayden West also took part in the event.
Troudt took top honors in the 3200 meter run with his time of 11:09.02. AJ Koehler and West also competed.
The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Wheeland, Biltoft, Tyson Kotinek and D. Zikmund finished in fifth place with their time of 49.99 seconds. The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Kotinek, Ostdiek, G. Zikmund and D. Zikmund held third place with their time of 3:59.21. The 4 x 800 meter relay team of Menke, Kotinek, Ostdiek and Troudt earned the second place points with their time of 9:00.18.
Biltoft was in fourth place in the high jump at 5’4”.
D. Zikmund scored a third place finish in the long jump with a leap of 18’3.5”.
Kotinek was in sixth place in the triple jump when he covered 36’10”. Keaton Mazour held sixth place in the shot put with his toss of 37’10”. Rocky Miller competed in the shot put.
Mazour netted fifth place in the discus with his throw of 113’1”. Wheeland and Miller took part in the discus throw,
Elsa Jorgensen sprinted to a first place finish in the girls 100 meter dash with her time of 13.7 seconds. Katelyn Mazour and McKenzie Ostdiek also competed in the 100 meter dash.
Mazour and Tori Miller took part in the 200 meter dash.
Aleah Heikkinen took sixth place in the 800 meter run with her time of 3:03.57.
Emily Troudt was in sixth place in the 1600 meter run with her time of 7:16.39.
Emma Epley dashed to a first place finish in the 100 meter hurdles with her time of 15.3 seconds. Sydney Biltoft was in second place with her time of 16:20 seconds. Biltoft was in fourth place in the 300 meter hurdles with her time of 51.39 seconds. Epley also ran in this event.
The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Jorgensen, Epley, Ostdiek and Mazour notched the second place finish with their time of 56.11 seconds.
The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Biltoft, Heikkinen, Claire Himmelberg and Jorgensen ran away with first place with their time of 4:47.3. The 4 x 800 meter relay team of Himmelberg, Heikkinen, Miller and E. Troudt were in second place with their time of 12:11.81.
Biltoft earned a sixth place finish in the high jump when she cleared 4’2”.
Epley was in second place in the long jump with a leap of 15’11”, Jorgensen followed in third place with her leap of 15’5.5”.
Kylie Beard was third in the shot put with her toss of 34’1”. E. Troudt also took part.
Heikkinen nailed down third place in the discus throw. Beard was in fourth place. Mazour took part in the event.
The Raiders host the Russ Snyder Invitational meet at the Sandy Creek High School track today (Thursday). This is the final regular season meet for the team. They will compete for berths at the state meet when they travel to Kenesaw, Wednesday, for the District D-7 meet. Other teams at the meet are Alma, Axtell, Bruning-Davenport-Shickley, Deshler, Franklin, Harvard, Kenesaw, Red Cloud, Silver Lake and Wilcox-Hildreth.
