Marcus Skinner

Marcus L. Skinner died April 6, 2021, at his home near Edgar. He was born April 9, 1955, in Superior and was the eldest child of Morris and Joan (Johnston) Skinner. Marc was later adopted by Jack Skinner. The family lived on a farm in the Edgar area.

Marc attended grade school in Oak and transferred to Nelson in 7th grade

where he graduated with the class of 1973.

Marc married Bobbie Samsula in 1974. To this union were born Michael,

Mary and Haley. In 1995, he married Nicole Burdick and had two children, Brittney and Brandon. In 2017 he reconnected with his high school sweetheart, Patricia Wehrman Melroy, and they were married in 2018.

Marc was a farmer and owned his own mechanic shop near Edgar. He worked as a millwright at grain elevators in Superior and later Hastings until his retirement in 2020.

He was a local fire department volunteer, a member of the Sons of the American Legion, the Edgar Lions Club and the Nebraska Rod and Custom Association. His interests included car restoration, racing, wood working, antique machinery, gardening and time with his children, family and friends.

Marc was preceded in death by his father, Morris Skinner; step-father ,Jack Skinner; and brother, Michael.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; his

mother, Joan Uldrich; his sister, Mitzi (Jeff) Manka of Litchfield Park, Ariz.; and brother, David Skinner of Prosser, Neb; children, Mike (Sara) Skinner of Edgar, Mary (Nate) Kenley of Edgar, Haley (Kelly Kent) Skinner of Hastings, Brittney Skinner of Fairbury and Brandon Skinner of Edgar; grandchildren Alec, Hanna, Ella, Billey, Carter and Violet; a niece and nephew and many cousins.

His funeral was held at 2 p.m., April 10, at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Edgar, Neb. Pastor Ethan Feistner officiated. Burial was in the Edgar Cemetery.
