Roger Kintigh

Roger Linn Kintigh, the son of Duane and Vivian (Bouray) Kintigh, was born on Dec. 27, 1954, in Superior, Neb. He died April 16, 2021, at the Select Specialty Hospital at Lincoln, Neb., at the age of 66 years, 3 months, 20 days.

Roger was baptized by Pastor William Doran Sept. 9, 1956, and was a member of the Republic Methodist Church. Roger attended school in Webber and was a graduate of Republic High School.

On June 1, 1980, he was united in marriage to Jeanine Zeigler at Superior. This union was blessed with three children, Jason, Bryce and Allison. Roger was engaged in farming and lived in the Webber, Republic and Hardy area most his life. He collected cast iron seats and belonged to the collector's association. He liked to attend auctions and enjoyed working on his kids' homes, yardwork and landscaping. Traveling to sporting events in Superior and Nebraska volleyball and K-State football. He was involved in Red Caps.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Vivian; sister, Sharon Bearley; and infant brother, Robert.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanine; sons, Jason (Melissa) of Lincoln; Bryce of Wichita; and daughter, Allison (Dylan) Howes of Kansas City, Kan .; three grandchildren, Gavin Powell, Zachary and Holley Kintigh; his brother, Mike of Fairview, Kan., and sister Debora (Doug) Staton of Pleasanton, Kan .; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

His funeral was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 20, from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior with Lance Rundus and Betty Bouray officiating.

Music was "Amazing Grace," and "How Great Thou Art," with Stephanie Thayer as the soloist and Carlita Price as the organist.

Visitation was held Monday from 4 to 8 p.m., with family present from 5 to 7 p.m.

Pallbearers were Justin Bearley, Ryan Kintigh, Jeff Hutchinson, Jared Gunn, Scott Meyer and Scott Snyder. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Osborne, Ken Heitman, Jack Clark, Steve Gunn, Bob Bearley and Bryan Zeigler.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Neb.

Memorials are suggested to go to the Superior and Hardy Fire Departments.
