Superior Mothers Club sponsors Easter egg hunt at Lincoln Park

The Superior Mothers Club is a long-established Superior institution. The group has been active for more than 50 years. It has gone through various incarnations over the years but its mission has remained constant. The group strives to provide a social setting for mothers of at least one child that is preschool age or younger.

The Superior Lions Club, the long time sponsor of a Superior Easter Egg hunt, disbanded this year. The Mothers Club made the decision to step in and continue the tradition. They filled more than 300 eggs for children up to six years of age.

The group holds monthly meetings at different locations such as members' houses or local business establishments.

The group offers mothers the opportunity to interact with others in the same circumstances. Members are able to exchange parenting tips, product news and provide emotional support for each other in a friendly, safe setting.

The club offers different events over the course of a year. There is a holiday cookie exchange and a bowling outing among other events.

The group provides financial support for free swimming lessons for pre-school children at the Superior Municipal Swimming Pool.

The club offers baby-sitting training to local teenagers through Nebraska Extension.

The club Provides a book packet to new mothers at Brodstone Memorial Hospital.

Twenty-years ago the club was instrumental in the addition of new playground equipment in both Superior parks.

Brenda Corman, Kara Smith, Ashley Bouray and Penny Carter are members who may be contacted for more information. The club welcomes new members. The club accepts donations to aid in funding their projects.
