For Christians this is a special week that climaxes on Sunday with the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Area churches have scheduled a number of special services but in many instances the services are different this year because of the ongoing COVID pandemic.
Two Good Friday services are advertised in this issue of The Express. The Webber Methodist Church will hold a Good Friday Service at the church starting at 6:30 Friday evening.
Also at 6:30 Friday evening at the Crest Theatre, Matt Ehlers will present a slide show and talk telling of his 10-day trip to the Holly Land.
The Nuckolls County Ministerial Alliance sponsored three Lenten Week Breakfasts with lay speakers. The first was held Tuesday at the Living Faith Church. Today’s (Thursday) was at the First Presbyterian Church. Friday morning at 7 the breakfast will be held at the Centennial Lutheran Church.
At 7 Sunday morning the Olive Hill Church will hold a sunrise service at the Jan and Brian Boyles home located along the east side of Highway 14, about three-quarters of a mile south of the stateline.
Probably more services are being scheduled but were not reported to this newspaper.
