After a long and difficult deliberation, the Mankato-Rock Hills Alumni Association has decided to cancel the alumni banquet for the second year in a row. The banquet is normally held each Memorial Day weekend, and alumni travel to Mankato from all over the United States to visit and share a meal in close proximity to each other. The committee did not want to aid in the spread of coronavirus, so decided that it is best to err on the side of caution and cancel the banquet festivities for 2021.
The alumni association will still be offering their scholarships to Mankato-Rock Hills graduates and that application can be found in the Jewell
County Record, on the Mankato Graduates and Friends Facebook Page or requested via email from [email protected]. Those who would like to donate to the scholarship fund, can send a check to Carol Mohler Wakefield at 405 S Commercial St., Mankato, Kan. 66956.
