Last we heard, the investigation into the fire which earlier this month burned over a large portion of the Jamestown Wildlife Area was continuing as investigators try to determine the cause of the fire.
Though we have not learned of a confirmed cause, it appears the fire may have been started with embers from an earlier fire that was not located on wildlife area property.
The fire burned over approximately 900 acres and was not part of a Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks area management plan....
