Jessica Stokes ELA teacher Lawrence-Nelson Middle School and High School told about teaching during COVID quarantine. "In the spring of 2020, I spent a lot of time meeting individually with a few students to help them catch up on their school work and let them know they were not alone as some just needed someone to talk to. This was a very difficult time for students. I felt it was more important to let them know we all were struggling with the change.
"My goal was to help all students become self-advocates during this time because it was difficult for teachers to see their struggle since we were no longer face-to-face."
