Nelson Council met Monday evening

The City of Nelson held its regularly scheduled council meeting Monday. It was a typical meeting. The role was called, the minutes of the last meeting approved, the law enforcement report was read.Overweight vehicles, speeding tickets and DUIs were reported.

The auditors from Dana Cole were present. This year’s audit went well They said the city clerk has kept impeccable records as always.

An opening is available on the Cemetery Board because of Russ Snyder’s resignation.

Properties currently unkept and in disrepair were discussed. It was decided that a health board meeting was to be held as soon as possible.

A building permit was discussed and approved. An application was approved for a new deputy city clerk.

It was noted several streets were having water drainage issues that needed to be looked into.

The next council meeting will be held at 7 p.m., April 12.
