Lawrence-Nelson will host their annual dinner theater (Dessert Theater) on Saturday, March 27, at the high school with doors opening at 5:30. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, some changes have been made to the night’s events. Masks will be required to enter and must be worn at all times. A dessert will be served, instead of a meal, in between the middle school musical and high school play. The reason for this is to limit the amount of time spectators will be unmasked while eating.
Tickets go on sale ($10 per ticket) this week and will be sold through March 23. Any middle school musical actor or high school actor will be able to sell tickets. Calling the school at 402-225-3371 is another option to purchase tickets. Seats will be arranged on a first come first serve basis.
Synopsis of plays:
Gilbert and Sullivan Rock
In this fast-paced “show within a show,” a group of students prepares to present a fundraising concert of Gilbert and Sullivan’s greatest hits. The two witty characters have much to say as they observe the show’s dress rehearsal. The music is classic, but the fresh storyline embraces opportunities to discuss relevant topics for today’s students, such as bullying and teamwork.
