RHHS boys top Lakeside in overtime at Mankato

The Rock Hills High School boys basketball team appears to have a penchant for close basketball games recently. The Grizzlies fell to Sylvan-Lucas, 42-40, at Sylvan Grove, last Tuesday. Rock Hills needed to go to overtime to down Lakeside 54-52, at Mankato Friday. The grizzlies had an easy time Monday when they tamed the Tescott Tigers, 57-16, at Mankato. The win improved Rock Hills season record to 6-5. The team visited Natoma Tuesday for a game with results unavailable at press time.

Davion McDonald topped the Grizzlies scorers against Sylvan-Lucas with 18 points. Jerrod Gillett and Mason Higer put through 10 points apiece.

McDonald led the Grizzlies in scoring against Lakeside with 22 points including a clutch three-pointer in overtime. Gillett hit for 19 points including two vital free throws in overtime. Higer came up with nine points, all on three-point shots. Caden Slate scored three points. Kenny Sterling added one point.

McDonald led the Grizzlies offense against Tescott with 20 points. Higer was good for 11 points. Gillett loaded up with nine points. Sterling accounted for six points. Slate posted four points. Brown dropped through a three pointer. Cesar Ortiz and Seth Pennell scored two points each.

Lincoln comes to Mankato Friday for a game. Its another road trip Monday with the Grizzlies traveling to Wilson for a game. The Grizzlies are on the road Tuesday with a game against Southern Cloud.
