The Rock Hills High School girls basketball team extended their consecutive game winning streak to four games. They downed the Lincoln Leopards, at Lincoln, last Tuesday, to run their season record to 4-1. The last time the Grizzlies sported a record of this kind was 12 years ago. The Grizzlies were scheduled to play Tescott at Mankato, Tuesday. The game was postponed because of COVID-19.
The Grizzlies opened up a 21-16 halftime lead and never looked back. The Leopards nibbled away but could not close the gap as the determined Rock Hills team recorded its fourth victory of the season.
Lauren Whelchel continued to lead the Rock Hills scoring with 21 points. Jauclyn Lemke kicked in 17 points. Selena Luong added nine points. Karrigan Dunstan scored five points. Whelchel pulled down 11 rebounds. Lemke grabbed six rebounds. Dunstan and Luong each nabbed four rebounds. Avery Brown and Ausytn Groote hauled down two rebounds each.
Rock Hills host Red Cloud, at Mankato, today (Thursday). This is a game rescheduled from Jan. 3. The Grizzlies travel to Wilson Friday. The Grizzlies visit Sylvan-Lucas for game Tuesday.
