Willard (Bill) Bruce Railsback, 83, of Peetz, Colo., died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, in Sterling Colo. Bill was born Oct. 28, 1937, on a farm in Mitchell County, Kan., to Joe and Olive (Rarick) Railsback. He grew up with three brothers, Robert (Bob), Frank and John.
Bill grew up on a farm near Ionia. He graduated from Jewell High School in 1955. After graduation he attended Fort Hays State University and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After serving his time in the military, he moved back to Jewell County and began farming. Then he began his long career as an over-the-road truck driver.
Bill married Sandra Shaver in 1959. They had five children: Rhonda, Renee, Joe, Billie and Sara. They later divorced.
Bill married Sami Wildman in 1983. She died in 2016. In his last years he lived in Peetz, Colo., with his companion, Pat Segelke.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob and John; nephew, Wesley Railsback; niece, JoLinn Railsback Kaus; and wife, Sami.
Bill is survived by his brother, Frank (Nadine) Railsback; son, Joe (Rose) Railsback; daughters, Rhonda (Rick) Bargman, Renee (Tom) Naasz, Billie (Travis) Cox, and Sara (Tate) Toedman; companion, Pat Segelke; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
As requested, cremation has taken place. Burial will be later in the Ionia Cemetery. There will be no service.
