Price for road rock approved by commissioners
The Jewell County Commissioners met Dec. 14 with commissioners Mark Fleming, Steve Greene and Keith Roe present. Carla Waugh, county clerk attended the meeting.
The Governing Unit Relationship Verification form for Rural Fire District 3 was approved to sign.
The 2021 Employment Rules and Regulations for all Jewell County Departments was approved.
Nancy Marihugh, health administrator, reported Jewell County had a total of 28 COVID-19 cases the prior week. She said Jewell County had a total of 127 COVID-19 cases that date. She discussed the distribution for the COVD-19 vaccine.
Alexandria Carabajal, county attorney elect, reviewed office equipment and supplies needed for start-up operations. Darrell E. Miller, county attorney, reviewed the inventory listing of equipment and discussed the transition of the documents and office equipment.
Miller reviewed the resolution he prepared for establishing current price to be charged by the road and bridge department for rock. Resolution 20-16 established current price to be charged by the road and bridge department for rock: 1: The amount to be charged for rock sold within Jewell County shall be $5 per yard. 2: The amount to be charged for rock sold outside Jewell County shall be $5.50 per yard. 3: No rock shall be sold for resale. The resolution passed unanimously.
Miller requested permission to purchase the county owned office equipment in his office. It was approved for Miller to purchase it for $677.
Marihugh advised that the saliva testing provided by the Jewell County EMS is set up and ready to start testing. She provided an update that she received a notification of a COVID-19 related death which makes the second death for Jewell County. Marihugh said she was also notified of two more positive COVID-19 cases.
