Other teams participating at the tournament were York, Fillmore Central, Bishop Neumann, East Butler, Axtell, Palmer, Twin River, Oakland Craig, Weeping Water, Palmyra, Meridian, South Central, Hastings St. Cecilia, Doniphan-Trumbull and Louisville.

Hayden Neeman took top honors and earned 22 team points for the Wildcats in the 106 pound weight bracket.

Aaron Allgood took sixth place in the 138 pound weight bracket. He scored four team points.

Tyler Everhart finished in seventh place in the 145 pound weight division. He was awarded no team points.

Jordan Brown landed eight team points with his fifth place finish in the 182 pound weight bracket.

Anders Webber grabbed fourth place in the 220 pound weight class. He was rewarded with 13 team points.

Michael McGowan wrestled in the 220A class and took second place.

Payton Christiancy nailed down second place in the 285 pound bracket. He hauled in 20 team points for the Wildcats.

Seth Going, head wrestling coach, said, “It was a great tourney for learning and advancing. Some wrestlers shined while others stumbled a bit. What matters now with them is how they get back up. Hayden and Payton continue to impress in their respective weight classes. I saw a lot of great things out of our less experienced wrestlers, things we can guild on through this next month. I’d much rather see a stumble here than in February.”

Superior travels to Franklin Saturday to compete in the Franklin Invitational.
