It may be mid-winter, a time when area residents don’t have to be on the lookout for construction projects but that is about to change.
Before this month is over, the City of Superior expects to have a contractor move equipment in and beginning the next phase of a multi-year water system improvement project. This time the work will be along Bloom Street. Work is scheduled to begin Monday, Jan. 18. The project calls for the installation of a new water main along the east side of Bloom Street beginning at the intersection of Bloom and Second Street and extending north to Bloom and Seventh Street. If the work progresses as expected, it will continue until Mid-April.
All but one block of the project area doubles as the Highway 14 route through Superior. It is expected the street will remain open while work is going on but motorists are expected to be mindful of construction activity as they are driving along this stretch. No interruption to any of business accesses is anticipated during the project.
