My Crazy Life

Well, ya’all, 2021 did not bring with it the magical reset button I’m sure many of us hoped it would. I’ve never really understood the whole “New year, new me” concept. I’ve always found it to be a pain in the tuchus. I have to buy a new calendar and remember to write the correct year on everything. Plus, it marks the beginning of the longest two months of the year. Not to mention the fact that I turn another year older shortly after.

The house is quiet. I’m enjoying it! I miss my brats, but as I look around at all they left behind, not as much! LOL! I still have the “out of order” sign hanging around my neck and haven’t been able to get the house back together as well as I’d like it. Oh well, I’m sure it will still be waiting for me when I’m all back to normal.

Robert had his first experience with driving in the snow this year. I wish you could have seen it! He decided to drive home with worn tires and no weight in the bed of his 2-wheel drive pickup. He couldn’t make it up the hill to our house. Then he got stuck at a stop sign. It was so hard not to laugh, but he was so upset that I was able to stifle it. I had to walk to where he was waiting and back his truck three blocks, around a corner and out onto the highway. I tried several different routes to no avail. I tried backing it up the hill. I finally got it within a block of the house before it slid to the ditch, and we left it for the evening.

On New Years Day, he went to see his dad and slid off in the ditch. His dad came to his rescue this time. I can only imagine how that went. When he called to tell me, I again had to fight the urge to laugh at him. Of course, the first question was, are you okay. He said he about took out a fence. I have to wonder how fast the boy was driving. He has been told not to come home until he gets new tires and some sandbags to weigh it down. Oh, to be young again and know everything! X’s& Os
