Wrestlers finish 9th in field of 14

The Superior High School wrestling team traveled to Hooper, Saturday, to compete at the Duane Carlson Invitational at Logan View High School. The Wildcats finished in ninth place in the 15 team field with 55 points. Other teams competing at the event were Midland, Columbus Lakeview, Fillmore Central, Logan View, Battle Creek, Syracuse, Fort Calhoun, Howells -Dodge, Lincoln Northeast, Columbus Scotus, Logan View Junior Varsity, North Bend Central, Omaha North and Southern,

Hayden Neeman wrestled in the 106 pound weight bracket where he took second place and earned 16 team points.

Brett Miller competed in the 113 pound weight class. He earned no team points.

Aaron Allgood took third place on the podium in the 138 pound weight bracket while earning 14 team points.

Tyler Everhart earned three team points in the 145 pound weight bracket.

Jordan Brown took fourth place in the 182 pound weight bracket. He was awarded nine team points.

Michael McGowan went out in the 195 pound weight bracket. He earned no team points.

Payton Christiancy was in fourth place in the 285 pound weight class. He was awarded 13 team points.

The team travels to Geneva, Wednesday, for the Fillmore Central Invitational with a 9 a.m. start time.
