Because of the pandemic, Superior’s Crest Theatre is currently not showing movies although at selected times the theatre still offers curbside delivery of its popular popcorn. But just because the theatre is closed doesn’t mean Superior area residents don’t have the opportunity to go out and attend a movie.
Tomorrow (Friday) a movie will be shown in the parking lot behind the Superior Utilities Department office building.
The show will begin at 5 p.m. or shortly thereafter. It will conclude by 7 p.m. Those attending may either bring lawn chairs and sit outside or they may remain in their parked vehicles. To hear the movie, they need to tune their radios to FM 88.1.
The feature movie will be The Grinch. An admission fee will not be charged.
The movie is being sponsored by the United Methodist Church, Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene and Price Funeral Home.
The theatre will be selling buckets of popcorn to go between 5 and 7:30 on Friday.
Santa Claus will not be available to talk with the children but he will be in the State Farm Insurance office window between 5 and 7 p.m. Youngsters are invited to drop by, wave at Santa and then take their letters to Main Street Floral where he has a special mail box.
Friday will be the last day to bid on the wreaths that have been decorated by representatives of several Superior businesses. The wreaths are still on display in participating businesses. Proceeds will go to the Nuckolls County Food Pantry.
The day’s not over when the movie concludes. Area residents are invited to Christmas Cruise around town and through Candy Cane Lane. While decorated and lighted vehicles are not required, they are encouraged.
