Judy Mikkelsen

Judy Elaine Mikkelsen, 73, the daughter of Theodore and Mildred (Wardrop) Schott, was born on Jan. 18, 1947, in Guide Rock, Neb. She died Nov. 22, at home near Hardy, Neb.

Judy was baptized on May 2, 1947, at the Beulah Church rural Nuckolls County by the Rev. R.C. Adams and confirmed on Oct. 21, 1959, at Reformed Presbyterian Church in Superior by the Rev. Richard Hutcheson.

Judy was a 1965 Superior High School graduate and attended Sterling College, Sterling, Kan. She was united in marriage to Larry Mikkelsen on Sept. 5, 1966, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ruskin. This union was blessed with two children.

Judy and Larry enjoyed traveling and their winter months in Arizona. She loved time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church, WELCA, and Thrivent.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Nina Williams.

Survivors include her husband, Larry; daughter, Tami Lynnae (Lyle) Mertens of Superior; and her son, Ryan Lee (Melanie) Mikkelsen of Ruskin; three grandchildren: Jami (Levi) Gunn, Mikayla (Colby) Rosenberger and Riley (Bailey) Ellwanger; three great grandchildren: Ainsley Gunn, Cruz Rosenberger and Baby girl Rosenberger; her brother, Ron (Betty) Schott of Superior, and sister, Carolyn (John) White of Salt Lake City, Utah; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 28, at Spring Creek Cemetery near Ruskin with Pastor Lori Kitzing officiating.

Book signing visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. to greet friends.

Memorials are suggested to go to Bethany Lutheran Church, Ruskin.
