Lady Wildcats go to State volleyball 4th year in a row

For the fourth year in a row, the Superior Lady Cats volleyball team has earned a chance to play at the state Volleyball Tournament.

Superior played at the C-2 Volleyball District Final at Diller-Odell, Saturday night. The Lady Cats won in three sets against Palmyra: 20 to 25; 18 to 25 and 13 to 25.

Player statistics:

Cailyn Barry: six kills of 12 spikes, six serves, one assist of one set.

Alexa Cox: two spikes, one block.

Sierra Blackburn: five kills of 22 spikes, nine serves, 10 digs, 14 assists of 26 sets, two serve receives.

Ella Gardner: two spikes, 21 serves, three digs, 19 assists of 42 sets.

Emma Henderson: no stats.

Shayla Meyer: 21 kills of 41 spikes, one ace of 10 serves; three blocks, 11 digs, two sets, 10 serve receives.

Atlee Kobza: five serves, 11 digs, six sets, 27 serve receives.

Madison Heusinkvelt: five kills of 10 spikes, two digs, three sets.

Sadie Rempel: two aces, 19 serves three digs, two sets, 15 serve receives.

Superior High School plays number three ranked Norfolk Catholic at the Volleyball State Tourney on Thursday, November 5, on Pinnacle Bank Area’s south court at the second evening match. It will follow the 7 p.m. match between Overton, number two, and Grand Island Central Catholic, number 7.

Admission: $7 adults and $5 students.

Face coverings are required.
