Raider Volleyball Season ends in Sub-District Tourney

Even if a person keeps tracks of sports seasons and schedules, the end almost always seems to sneak up on a person.

As with the case of the L-N Lady Raider’s volleyball team, the end came suddenly this week Monday night. The girls played their opening game in the Class D2-7 Sub-District Tournament in Franklin and lost the game to Wilcox-Hildreth 1 set to 3.

The scores were: 10-25, 25-19, 18-25 and 21-25.

Individual statistics were not available by press time Tuesday but the girls were still without players Tori Miller and Emma Epley and other recovering from missing a couple of weeks of play.

The strange year of 2020 with the COVID pandemic saw the team miss two tournaments, maybe six or seven games altogether and finish the season with a 6-14 won-loss record.

Seniors who will end their high school volleyball playing time are: Avery Mazour, Tori Miller, Emily Miller and McKenzie Ostdiek.
