To say that 2020 has been interesting is an understatement. Our communities have experienced many highs and lows throughout the year and here at Brodstone we have experienced the same.
To start the year, our facility was named as a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital in the nation. This is an award that we have received eight previous times. In March, The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) recognized Brodstone as a 5-star facility for Quality, one of 466 in the nation. This is the highest ranking a hospital can receive from CMS. Brodstone was again recognized with a monumental award in May.
This time as a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital in the nation, a first in Brodstone’s history. The announcement gave Brodstone the recognition as an overall winner out of 1,350 critical access hospitals in thenation. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our employees, on a daily basis, to provide the highest quality of care that there is in the entire nation.
In June, we were notified by CMS that Brodstone was also being recognized as a 5-star facility for patient experience, one of 266 hospitals in the nation to receive this award out of 6,146 hospitals. With this award, we are now recognized as the only hospital in the state of Nebraska to be a double 5-star and a Top 20 Facility. This is something rare that few hospitals in the nation, all sizes, have been able to attain.
To say that I am proud is an understatement. While we here at Brodstone expect this type of care and quality for the communities we serve, it is not common in the state of Nebraska or most areas in the nation. These recognitions are something that our communities should be proud of and know that the care they receive at Brodstone is the best that can be given!
Through the entire pandemic, our team has worked tirelessly planning and preparing. We want to assure our
communities that the care that you have become accustom to receiving is the same that you will receive through these trying times.
As always, Brodstone is staying on the cutting edge and will continue providing the best therapeutic treatments available using the latest COVID-19 diagnostic tools. Our partnership with TestNebraska has allowed BMH staff to provide increased, free, testing to the region in hopes of keeping the positive cases low. I know this extended threat has taken a toll on all of us and we are all looking forward to brighter days where our lives can go back to normal. Days where we can congregate in groups larger than eight, hold community celebrations and graduations in person. It is inspiring that our communities are a model for coming together to support each other through one of the toughest times in our nation’s history.
Here at Brodstone we are thankful for you, for our communities and for the support and trust that you give us by letting us take care of you and your families. While these awards are great, we would not be the facility that we are without you or the communities we serve! As we move closer to the day that a vaccine can be given and the day our lives can go back to normal, please know that Brodstone is here to support our communities by providing Superior Care Close to Home.
