Candy Dewey was born and raised in Superior, Neb. Dewey and her husband, Rick, live in Mankato for part of the year, but travel and live in Texas during the winter months.

When in Texas, Dewey and her husband stay in Alamo, at the bottom tip of Texas. They live at an all adult RV resort called Trophy Gardens. In the spring and summer, the Deweys come back to Mankato, where Rick's family lives. Dewey has her craft workshop, called Candy Cabin, on land she and her husband own south of Sweden Cream.

Dewey enjoys gardening, scrapbooking and making cards, some of which she displays at Possibilities in Mankato.

Dewey met her husband in Superior. They will have been married for 34 years on Nov. 1. Dewey enjoys time with her pug, Thelma. You can often see them walking around Mankato.

Dewey once owned her own bakery, Cakes by Candy, in Dumas, Texas. She decorated cakes and cookies for 37 years. "I spoiled my 'littles'," Dewey said. "I'd let them sit on the counter and decorate cookies."

Dewey still enjoys making cakes and cookies for fun. She said in this way, she can better remember her 'littles.'
