The Superior High School varsity volleyball team hit the home court against Fillmore Central last Tuesday, Sept., 1. The team played more confidently and beat Fillmore Central in three sets: 25-12; 25-11 and 25-12. Coach Kelsea Blevins said, “The girls got a good experience of not dropping down to the level of their competition and to keep their expectations high.”
Cailyn Barry: four kills on 10 attempts, one block, one ace serve on 14 attempts and four digs.
Alexa Cox: no kills on one attempt, one block.
Laci Kirchhoff: four ace serves on 19 attempts, four digs and four serve receives.
Sierra Blackburn: two kills on three attempts two ace serves on 24 attempts, two digs, 10 of 24 assists and one serve receive.
Ella Gardner: no kills on nine attempts, no ace serves on four attempts, three digs, 2 of 12 assists and one serve receive.
Emma Henderson: one kill on three attempts.
Shayla Meyer: 14 kills on 22 attempts, three blocks, five ace serves on eight attempts, 12 digs, no assists on two attempts and 10 serve receives.
Atlee Kobza: two serve attempts, two digs and five serve receives.
Teegan Duncan: no kills on three attempts, one block and one assist on two attempts.
Sadie Rempel: two serve attempts, five digs and two serve receives.
There were only two matches played against Fillmore Central because of a low number of girls. The SHS Junior Varsity team won in two sets.
