Friday morning a contractor finished installing an acoustical ceiling in the Superior Auditorium The first event to be held there after the ceiling installation will be Bomgaars job fair scheduled for this coming week. The Bomgaars firm is looking for employees to help set-up and staff a store planned for the former Shopko building.
Friday a contractor who previously replaced the roof on the Superior Auditorium, completed installation of a an acoustical ceiling in the auditorium's main hall. The white ceiling panels brighten the room but since an activity has not yet been held there, their acoustical effectiveness has yet to be tested.
The next major project for the auditorium restoration committee will be the installation of a heating and air conditioning system to serve the main hall.
Future plans for the main hall include refinishing the floor but that work will be delayed until after the HVAC system is installed.
The auditorium is gradually coming back to life. A hearing aid consultant has scheduled monthly clinics there and next week Bomgaars plans to hold a job fair at the auditorium.
Because of the pandemic, the Brodstone Hospital Foundation Gala which had been held there the past two years will this year be a virtual event.
